Hosting and DNS care

Hosting and DNS careAn isometric drawing of a website's hosting as a small fenced yard. At the street entrance on the front left stand a domain signpost and a DNS board listing the A, MX and TXT records. A firewall wall with a gate crosses the yard. Behind it stands the server with an SSL padlock on top, a backups vault with five daily backup boxes, an uptime tower at the back that pings the server, and a tray holding the monthly report at the front right. Visiting the site sends a visitor past the signpost and DNS board, through the firewall gate to the server; the padlock shuts and the page comes back. A bot flood sends many bots at the gate, which turns them away while a real visitor still gets through. When the server drops, its lights go out, the tower flashes and sends an alert, the server is restored from the latest backup box and the monthly report notes the outage.the streetyour yardbackupsmontuewedthufrifirewalldns recordsA serverMX mailTXT spfyour sitemonthly reportyour.site1234567

We host your site and keep its domains, DNS and firewall in order.

In short

Hosting and DNS care means one team runs your website's server and also looks after the domains, DNS records, SSL certificates, firewall and uptime checks. It's aimed at small businesses that would rather not think about any of it. Zenoware is a studio in Auckland. We host WordPress, cPanel and custom apps, handle the move from your old host and send a plain-English report every month. Start with a free first call.

What you get

  • Backups, patches and SSL renewals off your plate

  • Domains and DNS that don't quietly lapse or break

  • An alert when the site drops, and a monthly report

How it runs

  1. 01

    Review

We work out what you've got, where it lives and who has the logins.

  2. 02

    Migrate

Files, databases, email and DNS come across, and we check it all before switching.

  3. 03

    Protect

Firewall rules, rate limits and bot protection cut down the spam and junk traffic.

  4. 04

    Run

Daily backups, patching, uptime checks and a vulnerability scan each month.

Questions

What is managed cloud hosting?

You pay for the website and someone else deals with the server it sits on. With us that means updates, patches, backups and SSL renewals, while you look after the content. It works for WordPress and cPanel sites and for custom Laravel, Node.js, Python or static apps, which get SSH, Git deploys and a staging copy.

Can you move my website from another host?

Yes. Files, databases, email and DNS records all come across. We test the site on the new server first and only then switch DNS, so nobody lands on a half-moved site.

Why are my business emails going to spam?

Often it's DNS. If SPF, DKIM or DMARC records are missing or wrong, receiving servers can't tell whether you're allowed to send from your own domain. Gmail and the other big providers now expect them, especially from bulk senders.

What happens if my domain name expires?

The website and email stop working when the registration lapses. Most registries allow a short grace period to renew (sometimes with a fee), and after that anyone can register the name. Auto-renew and a contact email someone actually reads will stop it happening.

What does a web application firewall do?

A web application firewall checks each request before it reaches your site and blocks the ones that look like attacks or junk bots. We pair it with rate limiting, so a single visitor can't hit your login page or contact form hundreds of times a minute.
